Floating necklaces
The Venetian glass and crystal beads in these necklaces are strung on single or double strands of Beadalon - a strong beading material. The beads appear to "float" around the neck of the wearer and the necklace itself is considerably lighter than a full string of beads. Most beads can be incorporated into a floating necklace - with the exception of the larger drops and rectangular beads. With heavier beads (e.g. ovals, discs and varigoles), double-stranded stringing is usually preferable to support the bead weight - as shown (centre row, second fron left).
